Systems Testing
Tests shall be performed to confirm that the control system and fuel skid construction and wiring have been completed in accordance with drawings that have been marked “Approved For Construction”. Preliminary in house testing shall be performed after construction has been completed. Appropriate reports shall be completed to show the results of the testing and actions taken to correct errors, if any. These reports shall be available for customer review at the factory acceptance test and shall become part of the project documentation submitted to the customer. A factory acceptance test shall be performed with the customer in attendance. The factory acceptance test shall demonstrate that the control system has been assembled and wired as specified, and that the control system functions as specified. Revisions made as a result of the preliminary test and factory acceptance test shall be tested to confirm proper performance and shall be recorded in the “As Built” documentation.
Control system wiring shall be subjected to a continuity test to confirm that wiring has been completed in accordance with the appropriate drawings marked “Approved For Construction”. A report shall be completed showing the results of the continuity test and actions taken to correct any errors.
After completion of the continuity test, the control system shall be connected to simulator panels for functional testing. Simulator panels shall typically consist of switches (representing discrete inputs), potentiometers (representing analog inputs), pilot lights (representing discrete outputs) and meter movements (representing analog outputs). The preliminary functional test shall confirm that the control system performs as specified. “Performs As Specified” shall be understood to mean that the control system accepts certain inputs and generates certain outputs according to a specified sequence of operation. Inputs introduced not in proper sequence shall result in either no outputs being generated or only appropriate alarm and indication outputs being generated.
