Technical Inside Sales – Senior Level

A major responsibility of this position (about 25 percent on one’s time) is spent on handling purchase requests and orders for the company’s customers.  Additionally, the inside sales position supports outside sales personnel in securing new and existing business.  Inside sales personnel must have a strong technical background, ability to execute technical proposals in a timely manner, and present themselves professionally at all times.  The position will require a person to be able to succeed in a fast paced environment, and work as a team member, both with and without supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase orders, and requests for quote (phone, fax, and email) 
  • Process Bid packages timely and accurately
  • Process Repair Estimates as assigned
  • React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned 
  • Act as an extension of the outside sales team to proactively grow industrial/OEM product sales for assigned branch.
  • Provide excellent customer service - answering questions, quoting, negotiating price and cost, entering orders, up-selling, following up with customers and vendors
  • Proactively participate in business development initiatives
  • Increase sales and margin dollars
  • Migrate customers to wilsonmohr.com
  • Place orders, handle claims and returned goods, and manage accounts.
  • Expedite backorders to maximize customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of process instrumentation or other technical environment
  • Five years technical experience in control instrumentation or equal
  • Ability to support all aspects of a technical purchase cycle
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment efficiently
  • Strong desire to succeed in a fast paced environment
  • Electrical/industrial/OEM product knowledge
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent phone skills
  • Able to handle fast paced environment
  • Customer oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or four years electrical distribution experience or Associate's degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups.

  • Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Associate or Bachelors degree, technical school training

Desired:

  • 8 years of Inside sales experience in Industrial markets.
  • Familiarity with automated order entry systems & PCs running Windows based software.
  • Honeywell product knowledge
  • Knowledgeable of Houston market, customers and vendors
  • Familiar with automated order entry systems
  • Strong PC skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft’s Navision Order entry system
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process instrumentation or other technical environment

General:

  • The ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated self-starter
  • Pricing and Costing of industrial products skills a must
  • Ability to build strong customer and vendor relations critical
  • Project management skills and expediting required
  • Must be able to manage all aspects of customer service to include: Add-on sales, pricing management, expediting, and request follow-up
